San Pedro (Echinopsis pachanoi) is a fast‑growing columnar cactus from the Andes, known for its tall, sculptural stems and classic, ribbed silhouette. Blue‑green columns with soft, short spines give it a clean, architectural look that fits perfectly in modern, desert, or boho plant styling.
In good light and care, San Pedro can put on impressive height over time, forming tall, upright stems or branching clusters. It’s an easy, low‑maintenance cactus that thrives on bright sun, infrequent watering, and a well‑draining mix—ideal for sunny windowsills, patios, and curated cactus collections.

Plant care
• Light: Needs bright light to full sun. Indoors, a south‑ or west‑facing window is best; acclimate slowly if moving into stronger sun to avoid sunburn.
• Water: Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry out completely before watering again. Water much less often in winter or low light. It is far more tolerant of drought than of overwatering.
• Soil: Use a very fast‑draining cactus/succulent mix with plenty of pumice, perlite, or coarse sand so the roots never sit in soggy soil.
• Humidity: Prefers dry air and does not require added humidity.
• Temperature: Enjoys warmth and bright conditions. Protect from frost and cold drafts; aim to keep above about 45–50°F, with warmer temperatures preferred during active growth.
• Growth habit: A columnar cactus that can grow tall over time and may form multiple stems or branching as it matures. Slow to moderate growth indoors; faster in ideal outdoor conditions in season.
• Pet safety: Spiny cactus should be kept away from pets and children to prevent injury.
