Hi, I'm Jana.

The Accidental Plant Shop wasn't part of some grand business plan. It actually began life as a florist.

But somewhere along the way I completely fell in love with houseplants.

What started with a few plants quickly became an obsession. One shelf became two. Then rare plants, terrariums, mosses, and all the fascinating little details that make this hobby so addictive. Before long, flowers had quietly stepped aside and The Accidental Plant Shop was born.

The best part hasn't been the plants themselves—it's been the people.

Over the years I've met so many wonderful plant lovers, and many have become friends. One of my favorite parts of owning the shop is watching someone find the plant they've been searching for, discover something they've never seen before, or leave with their very first houseplant. Plants have an incredible way of bringing comfort, excitement, and a little more life into our homes, and it's a privilege to be part of that.

Our little shop is tucked inside an old jeweler's storefront at the Three Rivers Mall in Kelso, Washington. Instead of jewelry displays, the windows have become miniature plant worlds. One might be filled with dramatic Alocasias, another overflowing with climbing Philodendrons, while another showcases mossy terrariums and our terrarium bar where visitors can create their own tiny ecosystems.

We also have a habit of disappearing down rabbit holes.

One month we might be completely fascinated by Hoyas. The next it's Begonias, Anthuriums, carnivorous plants, moss, orchids, or something else that has captured our imagination. We don't try to carry everything—we simply fill the shop with the plants we're genuinely excited about.
