Hoya ‘Germany’

Hoya ‘Germany’ is a beautiful collector Hoya with thick, substantial foliage and an easygoing vining growth habit. The leaves are elongated and deep green, developing an especially lush appearance as the plant fills out and begins to trail or climb.

Like many Hoyas, ‘Germany’ appreciates being allowed to dry somewhat between waterings and does particularly well when given plenty of bright, indirect light. Allow it to trail from a hanging pot or give it a trellis or other support for a more upright specimen.

With maturity and the right conditions, established plants can produce the distinctive clusters of waxy, star-shaped flowers that make Hoyas so addictive to collect.

Care Highlights

• Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Gentle morning or late-day sun can also be beneficial.
• Water: Allow much of the potting mix to dry before watering thoroughly.
• Soil: Use a chunky, highly aerated and fast-draining mix.
• Humidity: Adaptable to normal household humidity but appreciates moderately higher humidity.
• Growth: Vining and suitable for trailing or training onto a support.
• Blooming: Mature, established plants are most likely to flower when given strong light and consistent care.
• Pet safety: Hoyas are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
