Dieffenbachia ‘Tropic Snow’ is a bold, easy-care foliage plant with large, creamy-white and green variegated leaves that bring an instant tropical feel to indoor spaces.

Product description

Dieffenbachia ‘Tropic Snow’ is a classic tropical houseplant prized for its large, oblong leaves splashed with creamy-white variegation on a deep green background. Its upright, bushy growth habit makes it a striking floor or tabletop plant for living rooms, offices, and bright corners that need lush, architectural foliage. Over time, ‘Tropic Snow’ can grow into a tall specimen, often reaching around 4–5 feet indoors in good conditions, with canes lined in patterned leaves that create a dense, tropical look.

Please note: Dieffenbachia is commonly known as “Dumb Cane” and is toxic if ingested; keep away from pets and small children who may chew on plants.

Shipping

You will receive one plant similar to the one pictured.  This plant will ship bare root (not in a pot and soil).

Light

  • Medium to bright indirect light is ideal, such as a spot a few feet back from a sunny window or filtered light through sheer curtains.

  • Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the variegated leaves, and avoid very low light, which can lead to leggy growth and dull variegation.

Water & humidity

  • Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry, then water thoroughly until excess drains; do not let the plant sit in water.

  • Soil should stay lightly moist but not soggy; overwatering is the most common cause of decline in Dieffenbachia.

  • Prefers moderate to higher humidity and will appreciate occasional misting, a nearby humidifier, or a pebble tray, especially in dry indoor air.

Soil & fertilizer

  • Plant in a well-draining, soil-based potting mix amended with perlite or other chunky material so the roots can breathe between waterings.

  • Feed with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer), following label directions.

Temperature & growth

  • Thrives in typical indoor temperatures around 65–75°F and does best between about 60–80°F; protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F.

  • Has a fast-growing, upright habit; rotate the pot every week or two so it grows evenly toward the light and maintains a straight, full form.

Pet & child safety

  • All parts of Dieffenbachia can cause mouth irritation and, in some cases, temporary difficulty speaking if chewed or ingested, and it is considered moderately toxic.

  • Best placed out of reach of curious pets and children, or avoided altogether in households where chewing on plants is common.
