Scindapsus pictus ‘Silver Satin’ is a trailing tropical houseplant with velvety, heart‑shaped leaves speckled and splashed with shimmering silver. Its cascading vines make it a standout in hanging baskets, on shelves, or trailing from a plant wall where you want soft texture and elegant, cool‑toned foliage.
Often sold as “Silver Satin Pothos,” this plant is actually a Scindapsus, known for thicker leaves and a slightly slower, more intentional growth habit than classic pothos varieties. Native to Southeast Asia, it thrives in bright, indirect light and rewards good care with long vines and larger, more heavily silvered leaves over time. The velvety finish and bold contrast between deep green and silver make it a favorite for collectors and beginners alike.

Plant care
• Light: Medium to bright, indirect light is ideal; too little light can dull the silver variegation, while harsh direct sun may scorch the leaves.
• Water: Water every 1–2 weeks, allowing the top inch or two of soil to dry between waterings; avoid keeping the soil constantly soggy to prevent root rot.
• Humidity: Enjoys average home humidity but will appreciate extra humidity for larger, lusher foliage.
• Temperature: Prefers typical indoor temperatures and should be protected from cold drafts and temperatures below around 55–60°F.
• Growth habit: Trailing vine great for hanging baskets, macramé hangers, or high shelves; vines can reach several feet with time and pruning.
• Pet safety: Considered mildly toxic if ingested; keep away from pets and children who like to chew on leaves.
