Neoregalia ‘Michi’
Neoregelia ‘Green Apple’ is a cheerful, easygoing bromeliad with glossy apple-green leaves arranged in a tidy, open rosette. As the plant matures and gets ready to bloom, the center blushes a bright hot pink, giving it a fresh green-and-pink contrast that stands out on a shelf, in a terrarium, or mounted on wood.
It stays compact, handles a little neglect, and fills its center cup with water instead of needing constant soil moisture. That makes it a great choice for new plant parents and a fun, colorful addition for collectors.
Plant features
• Glossy, leathery apple-green foliage
• Center turns vivid pink as the plant matures toward bloom
• Compact rosette shape, great for shelves, desks, terrariums, and mounts
• Produces pups after blooming so your collection can keep growing
• Pet-friendly bromeliad
Care
• Light: Bright, indirect light. Brighter light brings out stronger pink color. Avoid harsh afternoon sun.
• Water: Keep the center cup about a quarter to half full. Flush and refresh it every week or two. Water the growing medium only when it is mostly dry.
• Water quality: Rainwater, distilled, or filtered water is best to prevent mineral buildup.
• Humidity: Average household humidity is fine. It appreciates 50% or higher.
• Temperature: 60 to 85°F. Protect from frost and cold drafts.
• Potting mix: Chunky, fast-draining mix such as orchid bark blend. It can also be mounted.
• Fertilizer: Diluted bromeliad or orchid fertilizer once a month in spring and summer, applied to the medium, not the cup.
• Bloom and pups: Each rosette blooms once, then slowly declines while producing pups. Separate pups once they reach about one third the size of the mother plant.
