Epipremnum ‘Shangri-La’ looks like a pothos that rolled out of bed with perfectly messy hair. The leaves twist, curl, and crinkle as they grow, creating a wild, sculpted texture that instantly stands out from your standard smooth pothos leaves. Even when it’s still in a smaller pot, it has that “mini jungle” energy that makes people do a double‑take.
Care‑wise, it behaves a lot like other Epipremnum: it likes bright, indirect light and a chunky, well‑draining mix. Let the top bit of soil dry before you water again, then give it a thorough soak and let the extra water drain away—no swampy saucers, please. It’s forgiving if you miss a watering here and there, but a steady routine will keep new leaves coming in thick and textured.
At The Accidental Plant Shop, we love ‘Shangri-La’ for folks who already have the classic pothos lineup and want something that feels familiar to care for but looks way more unusual. Let it tumble off a shelf, pop it into a hanging pot, or give it a pole if you want to encourage longer, more dramatic growth. Either way, it brings instant personality to a mixed plant grouping.
Light: Bright, indirect light; tolerates medium light but grows fuller and happier with brighter conditions.
Water: Let the top 1–2" of soil dry, then water thoroughly and pour off any excess from the saucer.
Soil: Chunky, well‑draining aroid mix (potting soil with some bark, perlite, or similar).
Humidity: Fine in normal home humidity, but won’t complain if the air is a bit more humid.
Temperature: Comfortable in typical indoor temps; keep away from cold drafts and blasting heat vents.
Growth habit: Vining/climbing plant with crinkled leaves; can be grown trailing or trained up support.
