Alocasia 'Venom' (Rare Jewel Alocasia)
$21.99
Add a striking centerpiece to your rare plant collection with the Alocasia 'Venom'. Known for its dark, deeply textured, and heavily puckered foliage, this sought-after jewel Alocasia cultivar features dramatic, almost-black leaves with prominent veining and unique scalloped margins that intensify as the plant matures.
Unlike faster-growing varieties, Alocasia 'Venom' is a slow-to-moderate grower. It typically rewards patient collectors with a stunning new leaf flush every 6 to 10 weeks during the active spring and summer growing seasons. Its compact, architectural growth habit makes it an exceptional choice for tabletops, terrariums, or dedicated plant shelves under grow lights.
Care Instructions:
- Light: Throws best color in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate, dark foliage.
- Watering: Allow the top 1 to 2 inches of the well-draining soil mix to dry out completely before watering thoroughly. Never let the plant sit in standing water.
- Humidity & Temperature: Thrives in high humidity (60% or higher) and warm temperatures between 65°F and 85°F.
- Important Note: Avoid harsh topical treatments such as neem oil, as the sensitive foliage of Alocasia 'Venom' is prone to chemical burns and leaf shock.
